Last night’s event was (insert pause here) interesting (for lack of better terminology)! I was invited to a fashion show/party at Hotel Victor, one of South Beach’s premiere spots. The event was gay in every sense of the word from its lively, energetic atmosphere to the homosexual preferences of the people in attendance (except for me, of course). As it turned out the runway show was for some new high end brand of underwear named “Papi”(lame). On the plus side there was an open bar all night. It seems that the rumors are true about gays being surrounded by beautiful women because the female persuasion was creme de la creme to say the least. I was one of 5 black people in the whole event, including one runway model (from Wilhelmina Models) who got poor feedback from the crowd (which means he wasn’t representing at all and ultimately he should have given me his spot and paycheck at minimum). I also ran into Dan Renzi from MTV’s Real World: Miami, who seemed down to Earth, but who knows. Later on I ended up going with my girl and some friends to Opium Garden which was wack. They fell off big time (I guess much has changed since my days as a promoter). Check the pics below:
